Website Search vs Page-Specific AI Assistant
The Challenge

We developed a WordPress plugin that created a site-wide chatbot with knowledge of all content across the website. This allowed users to ask questions and receive answers drawn from anywhere on the site, eliminating the need to manually search through different blog posts.

While the site-wide search proved valuable and helped clients land new business, we identified an opportunity to enhance the user experience by understanding the typical user journey. Most visitors arrived at specific pages via search engines, having already narrowed down their topic of interest.
The Refined Approach
We pivoted to create page-specific embedded assistants that focused exclusively on the content of individual pages. This allowed users to ask nuanced questions about the specific topic they were already reading about, without needing to digest lengthy blog posts.
